The Hypnotic Use of Waking Dreams:
Exploring Near-Death Experiences Without the Flatlines

For more than a quarter century, a number of authors have written about the profound consequences that routinely occur for those who have had a near-death experience (NDE). However, as one writer put it: ". . . it would be quite helpful if we each personally had an NDE, but after an extensive study of NDEs, I don’t recommend that. The ‘near’ part of an NDE is too tricky! Most people who come that near to death do not give us an interesting report of what happened afterwards; they get buried!"

What if you could have a near-death experience without any risk to your body’s well-being? For almost 25 years I have used hypnosis to help clients have "waking dreams." These interactive dreams, in which the person is always someone else, enable the person to safely experience many of the phenomena associated with a true near-death experience, without any of the life-threatening risks. The varied case studies in the book, together with extensive transcripts of actual waking dreams, demonstrate a variety of ways that I have used them to help people resolve problems ranging from the specific to the existential.
