Pan Massachusetts Challenge 2010
|2||days (August 7th and 8th)|
cancer research and treatment at the
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
This year my brother and I once again took the original Sturbridge to Bourne to
Provincetown route. With this year's pictures, I've focused a number of them on
some of the "We ride for..." postings that cyclists wrote on the large panels at
the Maritime Academy in Bourne where we stop at the end of day one. I hope
you'll take time to read them.

|Sunrise in Sturbridge just before we begin day 1.||112 miles later in Bourne at the Maritime Academy.||There are many riders who convey their reasons for riding in visible ways like this fellow.||The lunch tent on Saturday.|
|Two of the members of Kermit's Team that has been riding for years in the PMC.||Another tribute.||Many riders add their reasons for riding on these banners in Bourne at the end of day 1.||This one and the previous one are some of my reasons for riding every year.|
|The meal tent and banners in Bourne.||I hope you'll enlarge each of these to get a flavor of how emotionally powerful this is for those of us who ride.|
|Many of us sleep on board the ship at the Maritime Academy.|
|This is part of why we get up at 4:30 Sunday morning -- to catch the sun rise on the Cape Cod Canal.||A short video of the excitement each year at "the hedge" as riders pass by.||The unofficial PMC cheerleaders. Every year they cheer us on, halfway up the last long hill on day 2. Catch the bicycle shaped sunglasses and the t-shirts: "Over the hill cheerleaders"||Provincetown, 192 miles later with my brother, his brother-in-law and a friend from work. Yes!!!|
|This year we took the ferry back to Boston. This was one more reminder of why we come back every year to ride.|
